Over the past several hundred years there have been a sea of inventions and discoveries that have made our life different from before. I’d like to list three achievements in medical world. First, we can make artificial hearts for patients with heart diseases. Heart is the most important organ of us human beings and there are different diseases that may cause malfunction of the heart. The artificial heart is a breakthrough in saving a lot of patient’s lives or prolonging their lives. Second, antibiotics and penicillin are important discoveries and inventions for human beings. They are used to kill many harmful bacteria that have entered the human body. They have become life-saving medicines in our daily life. Third, the test-tube baby is an important medical achievement that blesses the infertile couples. Some couples may have some diseases that prevent then from giving natural birth to a child. Doctors use their healthy egg and sperm to conceive the baby in the lab tube and then put it back to the mother’s uterus to help the pregnancy.
